The name of the city is thought to have been derived from “Apasas,” in the language of the Kingdom of Arzawa, meaning ‘’ the city of the Mother Goddess.” They were the daughters of Ares, the God of war. Noted for their riding skills, courage, and pride, these warriors lived at the outer limits of the known World.
